It's official, I am leaving Wednesday September 1st at 9:30am. Just picked up my last item, a "washing machine" for the road. What! I hear the masses cry. It's a 5 gallon bucket. Throw in clothes, laundry detergent and water, voilà instant washer. I'll let you know if it works as well as I'm hoping it will.
First destination is New River Gorge in West Virginia about 310 miles and a five hour drive from Falls Church VA. There are several camp sites. I am looking at the primitive kind, right down on the waters edge. My camp fire building skills as a girl guide (scout) will come in handy. There are no amenities, and the bathroom provided is a hut with a hole in it. Can't wait.
